My Current Favourite Phone Apps

I'll show you mine, you show me yours? I'm not a creep I swear. I'm talking favourite phone apps of course.

1. SAM App - Anxiety Management on your Mobile

Read my full review on this app here. This has been so useful to me when I've found myself in a bit of a panic, helping me to get my breathing back in order and bring my focus back to not freaking the eff out. I'd definitely recommend giving it a try.

2. Do! - The Best of Simple To-Do Lists

I have an iPhone and don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with the Reminder app that comes with the phone but I find I use that for more day-to-day tasks like my morning reminder not to leave the house without my work badge/not to forget to take my pill etc. I wanted a different place to be able to note ideas that popped into my head whilst out and about for Moany Mouse. This app lets you choose a nice theme, font and colour scheme, allows for password unlocks to protect your ideas from prying eyes and keeps you on the ball with alarms, pinned notes and so on. A handy little organiser!

3. Period Tracker - Monthly Cycles, Menstrual Calendar & Ovulation / Fertility Diary

My period likes to give me a good kick in. As such, I like to know when it's gonna show up. I've used lots of similar apps to keep track of what's going on but find this app allows me to keep tabs on lots of different aspects of my menstrual cycle. It familiarises itself with your cycle and is accurate in being able to predict when your next period will arrive (I find this especially handy as for around 3 days every month I can barely move and it gives me an idea of when I can make plans without bailing on them). It also lets you keep track of symptoms, heaviness, sexytimes (did I really just say that?) and moods. I wouldn't be without this app now!

4. Neko Atsume: Kitty Collector

So I tend not to get sucked into games on my phone but when I saw Sarah post about this game on Instagram I immediately went and downloaded it because cats. I'd actually noticed pictures of this game floating around the internet but didn't know what it was called. Basically you put out toys and food and try to attract as many cats as possible. Fairly similar to my actual life. I mean what? No, you're a crazy cat lady. Note: is anyone else over that phrase? Like when are people just gonna accept that animals are the greatest things ever and to be super into animals is a sign of being a super sound person?

Apps 1, 3 & 4 are all available from Apple App Store and Google Play however App 2 is available on App Store only. All apps are completely FREE of charge too!

So...I've showed you mine...your turn! I'm especially keen to hear about any apps that help you blogging wise. Also interested to hear from anyone who uses the apps I've listed and what you think of them!

  1. I downloaded Neko Atsume. best. decision. ever. Cats.

    1. So many cats. I couldn't get any for a while and it was such a sad time for me.

  2. Must admit, I’m a bit of a technophobe. I don’t even have the Facebook app! But these sound like great girl-friendly apps, I’m still old-school and mark my monthly cycles in a diary lol!

I’ve just written a post about looking into deep-breathing exercises for stress and anxiety so I definitely need to look at downloading the SAM app. There are also these white-noise apps that are meant to help if you’re a troubled sleeper which you may want to check out too.

    1. Get yourself involved for sure! I was really bad for forgetting and being caught totally unawares but now I get a little reminder telling me I'm due in a few days - v handy!

I'm gonna come check out your post and also the white noise apps. My sleeping has been terrible so the recommendation is much appreciated!

  3. OH MY GOD your description of the Kitty Collector game sold it to me! I've just downloaded it and I'm pretty sure I'm not going to be doing anything else for the rest of the week!

  7. YES to the period app haha. I've got it but my cycle is still so messed up it doesn't really help. (TMI hahaha sorry!) That cat app sounds so hilarious, thanks for sharing these free apps!

  8. I'm glad that I helped bring Neko Atsume into your life :) It's such an amazing adorable game! I'm honestly addicted. I just got my expansion last night! I was sooo giddy about it :D I could have got it sooner, but I got a little too over-enthusiatic buying new toys! I agree, animals are the greatest things ever!

That period app sounds great. I've been on the implant now for YEARS! I'm currently on my 2nd one, and it's due to come out in the next few months. I've gone so long without a normal period because of this contraception that I'm definitely going to need this app to help me get back into the swing of things.

I'll have to check out the to-do list app :) I always plan to take my little blogging notepad with me to jot down any inspiration for blog posts, but I forget it all the time! So this app could be really useful for me.

  9. I definitely need to download the anxiety snd period apps x
