52 Week Saving Challenge Update - Week 9

SHOW ME THE MONEY. Time for a little update on this challenge. (If you haven't read my previous posts about this check out my related posts at the end of this one).

So how close am I to £1,378?
So far I've saved £177 so it does feel like I have a long way to go. I have a lot of family birthdays coming up in March/April - my two sisters, my two cousins including a 21st, my dad and my boyfriend, as well as Mother's Day...oh and I also have to renew my home insurance (yawn) and my car insurance (yawwwnn) - so I'm fully prepared to be saving next to nothing for the next few weeks. Next next next. Just as well I'm not doing this challenge in the order I'm supposed to huh? Can't be tamed.

I now have a few ideas that have been swirling around in my head about what I could spend the money on. The other day, out of nowhere, my brain randomly whispered "hey...I know you're like busy working and that but why not GO TO NEW YORK?!" I think NY would be a very worthwhile thing to spend the £££ on but that would involve me leaving the house and flying and stuff. It's a thinker.

Other ideas I've had: putting it towards quick working braces, staycations, a new laptop, one thousand books, 5000 pieces of cute stationery or all the galaxy chocolate in the land.

Have any of you ever tried those quick working braces? Invisalign and such? Or have you ever been to New York?
As much as I like the thought of noising up the big apple I have visions of it being so full of people that I can't move/get lost/accidentally follow someone that isn't my boyfriend and end up spending the rest of my life living with a stranger because I was too anxious to find my way back. You know how it can be.

  1. Haha, I hope you won't get lost in New York! I'd say your challenge is going quite good so far, we shall see how it will go with all these birthdays :)

  2. This post gave me a good laugh! I am so proud of you for doing this, there is no way I could do a challenge like this although I really NEED to! You're doing great so far! I myself have never been to New York so I can't give any advice there, although I hope if you do venture out you at least make it home with the person you left with ;) I like the idea of blowing all that money on chocolate...can you imagine? Have a wonderful weekend gorgeous girl! XO -Kim

    1. Hahaha thank you! Really want to keep at this - even if I don't spend the money at the end of the year and just have some savings behind me - it'd be a good feeling! You too lovely xx

  3. I'm currently on £127 from doing the same method as you, and I'm glad I'm doing it this way as I can see a money build up more than the 1+2+3 that I'd be doing now! I'd be on £45 now, but this was is better!!
I'm planning to use some of mine on my Florida holiday next summer and then the rest can be for some mini weekend breaks! Tania xx taniamichele.blogspot.co.uk
