52 Week Saving Challenge Update - Week 13

52 Week Saving Challenge

Week 13. Where is this year going?! What's the big rush? Isn't anyone else panicking? No? Alright then.

Time for an update on the 52 Week Money Saving Challenge. I'll be totally honest - I completely forgot about putting money away weekly so whapped some in earlier today to cover the weeks since the last update.

I somehow managed to bag a bonus at work so I was able to knock some of the higher amounts off the list this time around. I put away a total of £150, made up of £50, £49, £40 + £11, meaning my grand total so far is £327. Not bad!

Now I'm not gonna lie - part of me is tempted to take this money and buy myself out of my phone contract so that I can get a newer iPhone...but I won't. I think the best thing for me to do (after yapping on about holidays etc. in my last post about this) would be to use the money at the end of the year to pay off my sofa/furniture. How very adult of me. Makes me sick.

Did you all have a nice weekend?
As I'm typing this my boyfriend is away to some wrestling thing in Glasgow and I'm finding it so hard not to keep watching The Walking Dead without him. (no spoilers pls we just started watching a few weeks ago from the beginning). I've actually watched two episodes today without him. I'm weak. I feel like I can't stop.

Do any of you watch The Walking Dead? I'm on the start of season 3 now - does it stay good?
And back to the savings - those of you saving up for something, how are you doing?
Does anyone have an iPhone SE? Or is there another phone you'd recommend?

  1. Hey! You're doing great with your savings! 327 pounds is not bad at all! Especially when you have bills and such to pay as well! I'm so glad I never started watching a show /with/ someone, haha, I have no patience for waiting around! As for the phone thing, I know a lot of people are preferring the Samsung smartphones over iPhone, but that's about all I know about that, haha :)

  2. You're doing so well, I'm impressed. I'm also addicted to watching the walking dead, just about finished season 5 and yes it stays good. If you keep up the saving you'll soon have money to spend on things you want as well as the grown up stuff. =^-^=

  3. I think you are doing very well with your savings. I, on the other hand, not so good. I started saving and it was going very well and then my saving plan kind of got messed up and I don't think I'm going anywhere further. But we will see how it goes next week. Also, I don't know about iPhones as I never had one but I am thinking of buying a new phone and maybe I will consider purchasing iPhone. I just really hate how pricey they are!

    1. Thank you, I'm surprised I've managed to keep on track this time around so I'm pretty pleased with myself. :) They are indeed pricey - is it really worth it when I mostly use my phone for twitter and the odd game or two? I don't know.

  4. You are seriously so strong! You are doing amazing with your savings, I am so proud...I'm certain I could not do that well. Doesn't it seriously make you roll your eyes when you have to do adult things? I am in my thirties and still can't get used to it hahaha. The Walking Dead is on our list next...we're still getting through Dexter so I'm glad to hear you're enjoying it! XO -Kim
