52 Week Saving Challenge Update - Week 18

Urgh, this is really starting to feel like a drag.

Looking over the figures I'm about to share with you, I really feel like I'm getting nowhere fast. The past few weeks were built up of payments at the lower end of the scale - £2, £7, £12 & £30 just because of various other things I've committed to this month.

Total amount saved since the last update: £51
Total amount saved so far: £378
Total amount to go: £1000

Oh lordy I really do have quite a bit still to go. I really thought I'd have managed to put away a bit more by this point in the year but hey, life happens, and I guess this is why I'm trying this challenge - to see if it's achievable for me.

Yet again, the purpose of my savings has changed.

Not that I had ever settled on one idea only. If you've been keeping up with me on Twitter you may have noticed how my craving for some time away has escalated from a hot tub weekend up north to pricing up the Maldives (and considering selling my gran to help fund this). (Jokes, I'd never sell my gran. Maybe another family member but never my gran.)

If you have recently written about a trip away please feel free to leave a link in the comments, I'm looking for inspiration!

  1. Even though you didn't put away as much as you planned, you still are doing great in my opinion. The most important thing is that you are trying to save and are still doing this challenge :) A little by little you will do it. And I love your idea of spending it. A trip is always a good idea! x

  2. You've done better than me! I made it to week 10 before having some finacial issues and that lovely spare fund I'd built up has now gone :( I'm going to try to do it again before summer and do it that way, and hope I can stick to it this time! Tania xx taniamichele.blogspot.co.uk

  3. You've still made progress and I think it's great that you are saving in the first place. A trip to the Maldives sounds lovely and great motivation to save even more. =^-^=
